My Final Cruise Policies / Terms of Service:
We are a third party administration web based business. We communicate with the with Cruise line and declare your intent to place cremated remains at sea using a biodegradable urn.
Our registered company name is: myfinalcruise.com
The spreading of cremated ashes is hereby referred to as "the act" or "event".
The individual desiring to spread ashes is hereby referred to as "the customer".
The Master is the Captain of the ship; the shipping company is the operating company, which may not be the owner of the ship.
The term "spreading ashes at sea" used throughout the site means the "Final Cruise, the act and or event".
1) Service provided:
myfinalcruise.com establishes contact with both the ship and the shipping company. Once established, we remain the only communication link between both parties with regard to the spreading of ashes until the ashes arrive on board. Once on board, the customer communicates directly with the ship’s Senior Officers,
myfinalcruise.com administers all paperwork and any official environmental reports requested by recognized agencies.
myfinalcruise.com geographically maps all events for public record.
myfinalcruise.com will provide an electronic obituary.
2) Payment details:
All payment transactions through our website are processed by PayPal.
A full receipt is provided upon completion.
3) Return Policy including Termination by client.
We have a 100% refund policy of the administration fees paid to this site at any time up to the act of spreading the ashes.
This includes unforeseen circumstances on board, such as adverse weather or changes to itineraries where it was not possible to spread the ashes as intended; however, we are not liable for any other associated costs, such as travel arrangements or cruise bookings.
No refund can be provided once the ashes have been spread from the ship.
No refund can be given for the purchase of an urn once the urn has been delivered to the customer.
We cannot be held accountable for any failure which is a direct result of actions of the crew members involved or constraints of the vessel. Such complaints are the responsibility of the shipping company once the ashes are on board the vessel.
A ship or shipping company may at any time terminate the agreement to spread ashes due to weather, changes to itineraries, or any other reason determined by the Master.
Individual termination by myfinalcruise.com:
If myfinalcruise.com forms the opinion, on reasonable grounds, that mutual confidence or trust may not exist between both parties or that professional conduct rules may be broken, the contractual agreement becomes null and void, written notice will be provided, and full payment will be returned to the individual party.
Ashes must be contained within an approved biodegradable container.
Spreading ashes at sea is completed under the London Convention.
Ashes spread under this program will be spread in international waters only.
It is the responsibility of the ship’s Master to ensure that these regulations are complied with.
Nothing contained within this program permits a ship or a passenger to discharge or knowingly contravene any other environmental regulation.
myfinalcruise.com is not responsible or liable in any conflicts between a ship and any government agency in cases where ashes were spread inside territorial waters.
As the Master’s decision is final, nothing in this website exonerates his decision.
5) Obituary information.
A marker will always be placed with the unique code attached and cannot be requested to be removed. The marker is public. The longitute, latitude, time of day and ships name is mandatory for the placement on our map.
The additional/optional obituary information, however, may be amended or removed upon client request.
My Final Cruise utilizes cookies to track site performance. Your information is held in the strictest of confidence. We will never loan, rent, or sell the personal details you provide other than to communicate and go through our verification process that ensures your service is successful. During financial audits, our auditor will have access to details for auditing purposes only.
In the event that the Environmental governing agencies request personal details for verification purposes we, are bound by law to provide their requested information.
7) The Urn.
Urns are shipped to the customer via UPS. The urns are carefully packed for shipping. My Final Cruise cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to the urn once it has been delivered to the customer and, any damage caused during transportation to the ship is the customers responsibility.
